Meteor Crater, Winslow AZ
Started driving from Williams, Arizona to Albuquerque, New Mexico on the first leg of my trip east for DAFITC. I did a quick stop at Meteor Crater to see the natural landmark where a meteor crashed into the planet 50,000 years ago. $27 to get in, $25 if you have AAA. It was worth a stop, didn’t bother to see the videos or take the special tour – it’s a hole in the ground for goodness sake. And I have places to be.
Tonight I’m staying at the luxurious Route 66 RV Resort at the casino. This place is nice! And there's a casino within walking distance and some good dining.
Apparently it’s monsoon season, I didn’t really think it rained out here, but it goes. And saw a little bit of hail, which made everybody lose their minds.
Of note my Starlink is getting 30 Meg down and 20 Meg up. The RV resort Wi-Fi is giving me 110Mb down at 100Mb up. Highly recommended.
I've been to Meteor Crater. They filmed Star Man there.
Phoenix was 120 in the day, 95 at night. Then Williams was a cool 105 in the day, 80 at night. Albequerque was 90 in the day and 60ish at night. Now I'm in Amarillo and it's 90-ish during the day and 70 at night.
Once you get east of Albuquerque you get bugs. Everything west apparently the sun just fries them.
Thanks for the Update, has it been hot as hades?
